BATIK PILLOW FOR ENTRY

While on my 'batik' kick with the table runner, placemats, mug rugs, etc. I decided our entry bench could use a new pillow (the one we had on it had some pretty Winter fabric but I was ready for something else).  I really enjoyed using the new tiny tumbler template when making the pillows for the home office and decided it would be fun to use on this pillow as well.  I made the center panel first and added batik strips until I got to a size I was happy with.  The pillow insert was made using muslin and I took the stuffing out of a pillow I no longer was using and recycled it for this one. I enjoy making my own pillow inserts so I'm not restricted by set sizes they sell in the stores.  The second picture shows how it looks with the ruffled pillows I recently posted. I'm linking this up with Connie's blog, Freemotion by the River, for Linky Tuesday.

  2. Beautiful work and I can see I'm not the only one who takes apart pillows! I bought some from IKEA that were too plump.....more stuffing for me! Thanks for sharing.
