PAPER CUTZ CHALLENGE #65

The challenge for this week at PCC is to make a card, layout or craft project for Breast Cancer Awareness using any colors.  Robyn, My Pink Stamper, asked that we make a card to send to Monique Griffith who underwent surgery today for breast cancer. This is the card I mailed to Monique (best wishes are sent her way for a full and speedy recovery!).  I used my Gypsy and Life Is A Beach cart and Designer's Calendar cart (did you know there is a ribbon cut for the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness?) It didn't come up on the search feature on the Gypsy, however, if you go to http://www.cricutsearch.com/ you will find it there...what a great site!) Other products used for this card were: cs from my stash; Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots embossing folder; SU Top Note Die; SU Extra Large Modern Label Punch to cut the sentiment printed from my computer; Memento dye ink in Angel Pink and rhinestones from my stash.  All the DT ladies at PCC invite you and your friends to join us this week...we'd love to see your projects!

FLYING OVER THE GRAND CANYON....WOW!!!!

Our neighbor, Steve, invited us to go flying this morning in his plane....over the Grand Canyon!!!  I can't even begin to describe how AMAZING it was!!! We've been to both the South and North rims at ground level...but this is just sooooooo much better!!!  I marked on the top pic the Colorado River...if you click on it I think you might be able to see some rapids! Thanks so much Steve...we had a great time!!

CRICUT CARDZ CHALLENGE #48

This week's challenge is to make a card for Thanksgiving using the 'card feature' from any cartridge and any colors you'd like.   I used the card feature from Stretch Your Imagination for the 'turkey card' and for the inside I used the Create A Critter cart.  I then cut two turkey shapes to layer onto the one that is cut as part of the card to give it more dimension, adhered them and used Stickles to help make him 'pop'. I decided on the sentiment before I created the card...my favorite cards to give, and receive, are funny ones so I hope you enjoy this one. The other products used were: cs from my stash; dp from DCWV Amber Autumn Fall Stack; google eyes; Stickles: Copper, Ruby Slippers, Yellow, Orange Peel and Black Diamond; MS Holiday Dinner Edge Punch; SU Extra Large Modern Label Punch and Corner Chomper. The DT invites you and your friends to join us in this fun challenge by clicking here. Looking forward to seeing what you create!

Not having done alot of paper piecing, I decided it would be fun to create a card after seeing these challenges:
All Things Unity - {Paper Piecing} Challenge #17
MelJen's Designs - Challenge #30 - Anything Goes
Whoopsi Daisy Challenge - Let's Paper Piece

Products Used:  kraft cs, Basic Grey dp

PAPER CUTZ CHALLENGE #64

The challenge this week is to make a card, layout or craft project for Halloween using stars, circles, diamonds or crescents and any colors you'd like.  I decided to take a very small break from card making and chose to make an easy-to-do treat bag using a coin envelope. I ran it through my Cuttlebug with the spider web embossing folder; inked it with Tim Holtz Black Soot distress ink (on the front and back because the web comes through on both sides...how fun!!); sprayed it with Glimmer Mist in Tuscan Sun; punched  a hole for the fibers; used two rub ons from my stash; after filling it with candy, I closed it with the fibers; added the spider and some Stickles.  The spider is actually 'recycled' from a treat bag I received (sorry, I can't remember who gave it to me). I added some SU crystal effects on top and attached it with a large pop dot. Hope this inspires you to make some fun treat bags for those little trick-or-treaters that will be ringing your doorbells. Click here to see what all the other talented DT ladies did for this week's challenge and come show us your card, layout or craft project.

This week at Cricut Cardz Challenge is to create a card using any cartridge, colors or theme you'd like and ANYTHING goes!!! How easy peasy is that?!?!  I decided to have fun and make a Christmas card that is a bit different. I chose the mushroom from the Cricut Lite cart Lovely Floral (yes, I said the mushroom cut....you never heard of a Christmas mushroom...well, now you have!! LOL). I used my Expression and cut the two layers at 3 1/4" (for the green glitter under the holes I hand cut a piece to fit). The other products used for this card are: dp from Cosmo Cricket and DCWV Amber Autumn Glitter Stack; Cuttlebug with the candy cane stripe embossing folder for the mushroom stem and the snowflake embossing folder for the top of the mushroom; card is a standard A2 size made with kraft cs; inks used are Versa Magic Chalk ink in Gingerbread and SU Chocolate Chip; sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts; EK Success scallop diamond punch for the cs on the inside; SU punch for the sentiment; MME decorative brads; Corner Chomper; red and white baker's twine and Signo white gel pen for dots on mushroom. All of the talented ladies on the DT would love to see your card, so come join in the fun (and easy) challenge this week by clicking here.

PAPER CUTZ CHALLENGE # 62

Paper Cutz Challenge #62 is to make a card, layout or craft project using ONLY red, black and white and any theme of your choice.  I couldn't resist using the cute little skunk on the Cricut Lite Live Simply cartridge. I cut all the layers on my E at 3 1/4" and then cut off the flowers since I wasn't going to use them. The other products used for this card were: cs from my stash, google eye, flower punches from EK Success, MS eyelet lace punch, tiny brads, Signo white gel pen, Zig black pen, SU dimensionals and MPS Punny-licious stamp.  Please join in the fun this week at PCC by clicking here. We'd love to see your take on this week's fun challenge.

IT'S WORLD CARD MAKING DAY!!!

For World Card Making Day I want to share this birthday card I made for my youngest son (whose b-day is next week). I used my Cricut Expression and the Cricut Lite cart Live Simply for the frog.  Since I wanted to use google eyes and draw my own 'mouth' I didn't bother to cut those out. After cutting and attaching the two frog layers I ran them through my Cuttlebug with the Spots and Dots embossing folder being sure to line up two circles where I wanted the 'eyes' to be.  I used Stickles for the mouth and spots.  The card is a standard A2 size cut from kraft cs. The dp is from DCWV Indian Summer Fall Stack that I got last year. I fussy cut it so it looks something like a lilypad that the frog is sitting on (he's attached using SU dimentionals). I used my Corner Chomper to round the bottom edges of the card and added copper Stickles to the leaves. The sentiment on the front "Hoppy Birthday" is from MPS Punny-licious stamps and the inside sentiment is from Hampton Arts. I used another piece of the dp for the bottom of the inside of the card, rounded the corners and used my newest EK Success punch (double embossed dotted lace) at the top. Have a fun day!!

PAPER CUTZ CHALLENGE # 61

For this week's challenge, Mary would like us to make a card, layout or craft project using 3 patterned papers, any colors or theme.  This was a really fun challenge...I decided to grab a paper stack that I've never used and it's from Deja Views. Since I just received my 3 Birds on Parade cart I just had to use it for this challenge. My dh and I were invited to our friends' house for Thanksgiving this year and so I chose the pilgrim bird (which I cut at 3 1/4 inches for all parts) using my Expression. This will be a 'thank you' card for our friends (hope they don't peek!) and it is a standard A2 size using kraft cs and scored with my Scor-Buddy (which I love, love, love!).  The other products I used were: MS optic dot punch; Cornish Heritage Farms stamp; Versa Magic chalk ink in eggplant for the sentiment and Gingerbread for a little distressing; blue pearls for the eyes; purple rhinestones and ribbon flowers from stash; Scor-tape; SU dimensionals; Corner Chomper and yellow Stickles to add some bling to this little pilgrim bird.  All the talented ladies on the DT at PCC invite you and your friends to come and join us this week (and every week) for a fun challenge. You can do so by clicking here.
