CRICUT CARDZ CHALLENGE #40 & ALL THINGS UNITY CHALLENGE

I am finally back.. WOO HOO!!!..  after week's of getting our house ready to sell, selling it (only took 5 days..yeah!!), clearing out 37 years of 'stuff' (what a job!!!), closing, driving cross country and still emptying one trailer's worth of 'stuff' that we took with us (now we have to figure out where to store it!). So happy to be  crafting once again..I've started working on challenges and trying to reorganize my craft room (another major job...but a fun one!). I want to thank Mary for being so supportive during this time...Mary, you are the best!!!!  Now on to the challenges:

This week's Cricut Cardz Challenge is to make a card using scalloped circles, ovals, squares or rectangles using any cartridges, colors or theme.  This also fits with the All Things Unity Challenge, What's Your Flavor Challenge inspired by PaperCrafts Magazine.  I really don't have just one style...it just depends on my mood and whether I'm creating for a challenge, for fun or for a specific family or friend.  Speaking of which, since my sister's birthday is coming up I decided this would be the perfect time to make her card and I would say this is my take on Shabby Chic...which I know she will love. I used CDS and the Sentimentals cartridge for the oval scallop. It was also used to make the oval for the sentiment (I sized it to fit using CDS). The other products used for this card were: kraft cs I purchased from Archivers; dp is from Webster's Papers Life's Portrait petite papers collection; crocheted ribbon is from American Crafts; sentiments are from Stampendous Stamps and Hero Arts; pink half pearl is from Basic Grey; black jewels are from Bazzill and the MS Optic Dot Punch. I used Dew Drop Memento dye ink in Tuxedo Black around the edges of the cards (after rounding the two side edges  with my Corner Chomper) and ovals for a little bit of distressing.  Come join all the talented ladies on the CCC DT by playing along with this challenge by clicking here. Speaking of the talented ladies on the DT...we have some new ladies that have joined us. Please check out their blogs and leave them some love. And don't forget to visit the All Things Unity Blog and check out all the beautiful projects designed by those talented ladies.  Thanks!
